INSTANT FUNK: BOOTLEG JAM COMPILATION [29 JAMS, 12'' VERSIONS, REMIXES]
Instant Funk formed in the early 70s by Raymond Earl, Scotty Miller and guitarist Kim Miller originally called The Music Machine. Music Machine started out backing the The T.N.J.'s. In 1971 their manager Jackie Ellis decided to rename the band Instant Funk because of their ability to, "find a groove and lock in to it instantly."
Bunny Sigler discovered the band and they became his backing band before becoming a feature band in their own right. They released their first independent album, "Get Down With the Philly Jump," in 1976.

Hard to believe this was ONLY 7 years ago!
Seems like more than a decade has passed....
Lots of Jams from then till now!
2010-2011...The Re-Edit Culture was in full bloom;
Ian Dewhirst asked me to help compile a CD of PIR Edits for part of a series of 40th Anniversary CD projects for Harmless Records.
We got tons of flak from the "purists" and heralded by the ReEdit culture. Since then the ReEdit Culture has taken the world by storm as anyone with a laptop can do an edit of their own.
Today Soundcloud, Mixcloud, Bandcamp, and other sites are flourishing with ReEdits; official & unofficial.
I'm real happy to see that most of the re-edit guys here (14/18) are still in the game in one form or another.
