David Todd turned me on to this jam at the RCA office when it came out....he was sternly told by his boss Tom Draper that he should not be playing any label but RCA at the office for the DJs but David did not care; when he really dug something he was jammin it.....even at work.
That week he got me an audition at ADAM'S APPLE where he was the resident DJ.....it was early, dinner time, I started playing conservative....then I seen David at the dance floor...IMMEDIETLY I pull this Commodores 45 from my box and mix it in....David started dancing harder and I turned it LOUDER......before the song ended the manager comes in, tells me my audition was over and he escorted me out the door.....David was laughing his ass off......the next day he tells me....
"What did you think was gonna happen BLASTING "Sanctified" during dinner time with all those white folks eating their dinner???"
